Art?

In my opinion, to think about the real meaning of art is very complicated. I don’t know much about the art but I like your points about whether your bedroom shelve is art or not. You said in this art exhibition, it is art, but if it’s in your house, does its still art?
I think anything can be a masterpiece of art; it depends on the person who looks at it. The computer experts may think that Apple’s new released notebooks are the art, but many other people may not. The chef may think his food is art, but for other people food is just food. Perhaps if the photographer visited your house and came across your photographs, he would think they were all art. In contrast, if someone who don’t know anything about photographing see you photograph at this art exhibition, he may not think that it’s an art.
I also like your point about whether the picture that has been edited in the computer is art. For me, I think art is a piece of work that shows the artist’s mind and ability. The non-edited photograph shows the artist’s love of beauty of ordinary and natural things, on the other hand, edited photograph may shows that the artist loves to create, and he or she can create anything with just an ordinary picture.
All in all, the works will be art or not is depend on the artist. If the artist not even think that his or her work is art, how can other people look at it as one piece of art?

Meaning of the song:

This song is mainly about to reach for the dream which is not so easy to reach for. In the story, there is a group of people who try to reach for their dreams.

If we hold on together, our dreams will never die. Dreams are there for you to fight and to reach for, not just for thinking and dreaming about. Dreams are there for you to put all your faith, hope and your greatness to reach for them. It’s definitely not easy to achieve the goals but if we don’t throw them away, we will reach them some day. All we need for achieve our dreams are believe in our ability and believe in the power of friendship of our group. Whenever you lose your hope and trust in yourself and your dreams, it’s a time of failure. No matter how much you have been praying for the dreams, if you give up, nobody can help you including god.

Although we are in the trouble or we almost lose, if we hold on together, we will feel the light that warms our hearts to fight again. And if we hold on together, we will see the light which leads us to our dreams like the clouds roll away for the sunrise.

The chance is always there, all we have to do is just never giving up until we find that chance.

my parent's opinion

I don’t really know exactly what my parents’ opinion is although I meet them every day. Maybe they think same as me or maybe not. This is my parents’ opinion in my view.

My mother, she is a housewife but when I was young she worked in the company. She spends most of her time in front of the television watching Korean movies or tennis. She also spends her time doing housework. I think she’s quite bored with this because she usually complaints about the cleaning of the house. In her opinion, our house has to be clean, actually, before she has to do housework, she didn’t complaint very much about the cleaning of the house, perhaps the cleaning of the house has been the important thing for her since she has to do more housework.

My mother thinks that teenagers today can’t help themselves, especially students in my school. She thinks that this school protect the students from bad things and bad people, so we are in the very good and safe society when compared with the outside society. This makes the students don’t know much about bad things in society. However, my mother thinks that to be in good society and don’t know much about bad things is better than to know about bad things but we are one part of that bad society.

This is just what I think is my mother’s opinion. I know this from what my mother does or what happen to me, but maybe this is wrong because my mother doesn’t show her feeling very much and I think she changes her opinion quite often in some topic.

How do you feel when you do something important?

Everyone has his or her important events, especially us teenagers. We have many exams in school, academic exams or just the exams about special skills such as the piano. For me, I have been in a ballet exam, and that is my important event.

When I was about 8 years old, I had been in ballet class for 4 years and actually, I thought I was quite good. In that ballet school, I had to attend exam after I finished every course to decide whether I passed that level or not. A month before the exam I had to practice very hard, my teacher told me to practice hard to make sure that when I was in the examination room I could do my best. At that time my weak point was to smile, I just couldn’t smile when I practiced and I also thought that I didn’t have to smile when I was practicing.

On the examination day, I went to the examination building with a confident feeling and full of thoughts that I would do it quite well because I had been practicing so hard for a month until that day. I felt very confident and slightly excited when I got ready for the exam, but unbelievably, when I was standing in front of the examination room, counting down for the second that I had to step in that room, all of my confidence and excited feeling that I had all disappeared.

I only felt nervous, very nervous and extremely nervous. When I stepped in that scary examination room, I still felt nervous, however, I told myself that I could do it and that made me feel a little bit better. But, I became nervous and worried again because of an examiner’s sharp eyes which stared at me as though she could see through me into my bumping heart.

When I got out of the examination room, I felt like my head was blank, I wasn’t sure if I did well or badly, all I felt was a little bit dizzy and a little bit relieved.

This event taught me that there’s nothing certain in this world, so the best thing that we can do is it do our best in everything.

What is 'CULTURE'?

‘Culture’, what does this word mean? Is it good or bad to have culture? Some people say that culture is one of the symbols of a country while others say that culture is the things that we do normally.

For me, I don’t really know what the culture is, but I think culture is what most people in the country usually do. Many people use culture to separate each country because different countries have different culture. Sometimes, I don’t like other countries’ culture and usually think that why should they do this, it’s not necessary, for instance, I think to eat without spoon as western people do doesn’t make anything be better, it’s only make me eat uncomfortably. However, to disagree with other countries’ culture is not strange because other culture is not what we usually do in our lifetime. If I do something automatically for a long time and I have to change them, I’ll feel uncomfortable and think that there is no reason why I have to do those things.

Although I don’t like to follow other countries’ culture, I think I still have to follow it if I go to those countries. It’s like if you come to my house, you should do what I and my family do. Therefore, it is very important to respect and accept others’ culture even if we absolutely don’t like it. As I say, different countries have different culture, so what we think is wrong may be right for people from other countries opinion.

I think I can’t say that I won’t do this because it’s not Thai culture and I don’t like it. I, as a Thai person don’t know even what exactly Thai culture is. Perhaps, what I do normally today is Thai culture, or maybe it’s just my habit and I just do what I want to.

What society expects of me?

Some people do things they want to, others do what their parents want them to do, which group is better? Maybe what we do depends on what society expects of us. This is what society expects me to do me in my opinion.

I think my father and mother expect me to be a good person, actually, be better than they are. They want me to have knowledge. They try so much to provide me with some knowledge such as have UBC so I can watch the National Geographic channel. I agree with their opinion to make me grow up as a better person than they are. I know my parents expect a lot from me because they love me, if I can be a good person, they will feel happy. I want someone who loves me and someone I love to feel happy, I myself want to be a good person too. Although they want me to be a good person, they still expect me to be myself.

Not only my parents expect me to be a good person, I think my teachers expect me to be a good person too. Although the teachers’ job is to teach in each subject, I think they not only want me to be a person with knowledge, but they want me to be a good person with knowledge too. I think it is good because in my opinion, teachers are someone who build good people in society. For my friends, I think they just expect me to be their friend, to be someone who they can trust. I agree with them because I just expect them to be someone I can trust too.

I’m not sure whether I’m everything I am because I expect myself to be or I’m just be what the society expects me to be. However, it is no matter which one is true for me because I think what I expect myself to be is the same as what society expects me to be.

Young people today

Many people say that young people today are worse than what they were in the past. In contrast, not many people say that young people today are better. For me, I don’t want to compare teenagers today with teenagers in the past and I think young people today have both good and bad points.

Today there is a lot of high technology, and much of it provides teenagers some experiences and knowledge, which they cannot find in the classroom. Teenagers today have a lot of opportunity to learn and to provide themselves with some knowledge. If teenagers want to find some information about anything, they can find it in the internet, which allows them to see the information from all around the world. This means that young people today have a chance to learn what they want.

On the other hand, some young people today are addicted to alcohol, and this causes many accidents and some fighting. When one gets drunk, one cannot control him or herself. Many teenagers say they know about the bad things from alcohol, so they would not drink it or if they did, they would control their selves. However, from my experience, teenagers try not to drink alcohol, but when you are addicted to something, you usually can’t control yourself. Their knowledge can’t help them to stop drinking alcohol.

Moreover, some young people today both girls and boys usually spend a lot of money on clothes, jewelry and make up. Although all these things are expensive, teenagers can buy them because their parents give them the money. They can buy what they want so they don’t really know the worth of money.

Although young people today have both good and bad points, in my opinion, we can be better. We have lot of technology and opportunity to learn and to find new good experiences; nevertheless, many teenagers, including me, haven’t used them in all these advantages yet.
